Tamar Braxton has unboxed the visual for her latest single ‘If I Don’t Have You’ – which is lifted from her third studio album ‘Calling All Lovers.’
Rolled out on VEVO moments ago, the release follows buzz cut ‘Let Me Know,’ which impacted last Fall.
The ambitious clip for ‘If I’ is the songbird’s most measured attempt at a theme-driven video with its showgirl theme.
Does it deliver, though? You be the judge after the jump where the NeNe Leakes featured visual awaits.
Standard-fare, which at this junction just won’t cut it. The song, despite its strong vocal showing, sounds at best like an album cut and more realistically like B-side filler. Hence, if adamant that it was a single, then surely a more engaging video should have been commissioned?
We wholly appreciate Tamar’s talent, but when will artists realize the importance of hitting a home run visually in an era that sees video streams directly impact where they chart on Billboard? It’s so baffling to see visuals such as this that feel as though they were released as a necessity rather than being an event. Where is the replay value?
When are the razzies again? NeNe Leakes just bagged herself a Worst Actress nomination. Shocking.

I am actually beginning to like Tamar Braxton. The video performance from her was great and she calmed down her sensuality a bit here and made it feel real not a TRY HARD like previous efforts and the over the top dramatic award performances. Video was good but I would of liked more of a storyline not a Drag Queen Vegas show storyline.

TB’s vocals are a definite Godsend though I agree. The video and song choice are not the best pick for a single. She gets much credit for being one of the best voices out and let’s not forget she is still getting cemented in the game. All things in time!
OMG Nene was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE in this video! She should have never left RHOA, I don’t see her getting any acting gigs in any production that’s worth anything’ GOD was that awful. She needs to invest her money so that it can continue to come in because she definitely won’t be making it in Hollywood with those chops.
I honestly liked the visuals. Lace fronts were all on point and the make up was good. The killer for me is that i know she can hold a beat, so they could have had her do a couple of little sensual dance moves. Give me the full package.
Also, towards the end there it looked like the lip-synching was a little lazy. Like, girl the vocals are screaming and giving me mariah notes, so you gotta look like you are into it.
I love Tamar, she looks fab, her body is looking great, and I like the song. Now lets just practice doing it live and giving some killer performance. Get you two backup dancers, turn on the red light, and give me a little magic.

The video is cute and fits the song. Not to mention Tamar looks pretty at damn near 40 years old and songs basically every mainstream girl under the table times 5. I can’t wait to hear the album.

Humm…. This was get best video to date but it still falls short. I agree with everything tgj said. If Tamar keeps this up the public will write her off on the oldies but goodies station. Im not saying make the meaningless hip hop and r&b music of now but she needs a Umbrella or Irreplaceable type track. Something mature but fresh. Also, give us a Lil dance

The videos for this video were on point. Especially the dark brown hair on the stairs she looked like she did in “Only Love” video when she was like 19. The is her best video since “The One” its not a chart topper but if she can pull off a even better live performance this song will gain some nice traction. Go Tamar!
