For, her endorsements have been plentiful at a time when her music sales are not.
Indeed, while last year blessed her with lucrative Topshop and Roberto Cavalli campaigns, it also brought with it the admittedly shocking performance of her sixth studio album ‘Jackie.’
The one caveat is that it appears CiCi is aware of necessity for change.

The ‘Jackie’ campaign effectively ended with the release of ‘Dance Like We’re Making Love’ (last Summer) and the sales of the album are a likely cause for concern for both parties. So much so that the recent Platinum plaque awarded to its lead single ‘I Bet’ is not enough to distract from.
Say what folk will, but there’s still much mileage in the Ciara “brand.” As such, it’ll be very interesting to see where she steers it in the months ahead — and who’ll be in the driver’s seat with her.

It’s a shame to see Ciara who was a qualified big competitor against Beyonce at the time of 2004-2007 and suddenly became the most flopped(not saying this as shade) female artist in years that hasn’t found the niche to pick up her career. In terms of what I mean is at the end of the day the hierarchy right now is first: Beyonce/Rihanna, second: Ciara, and then last: Keri Hilson at a point of time. I don’t dislike Ciara but her promo maneuvers were weird and she released the wrong songs once 2007 hit. I mean why would her team have her open up for Rihanna back in 2006? Weird. And not only that continue to push her as the opening performer throughout the years instead of a tour of her own?
“Jackie” is the LAST straw that Ciara had to prove to her doubters and music critics but failed as the songs were not memorable nor necessary. Now we have way too many new girls already stepping over her as her hype in music dies down by Sevyn Streeter, Tinashe, Kehlani, and more that will come.
Sad but you gotta give homeboy the props for gaining a few hits and platinums that has suddenly been overshadowed by her primary focus on promoting Russell Wilson at every show.

I loved her albums my favorite was her self titled album. In fantasy ride she only had 2 singles and 3rd single work feat. Missy was only an international single non USA single. And then on she only released two singles off the album. With Ciara album and Jackie she releases two songs then moves on. Goodies and evolution had 4-5 singles

I’m glad she’s leaving them. They aren’t consistent with any of their artist really. Ive said for some time now that she needs to go independent. Her name and brand is big enough to do so. I believe she wants to GO in but those labels do have red and green light signals that you have to abide by. With indie, she can do what she wants. I also think for some artist, being signed to a label is like being verified or legit (can’t really explain it). She even dreamed of being signed to a label so I can see why she is still rocking out with these labels. But she’s at a point where she don’t need em. I hope she finds either finds a label that will focus on her and not 10 others at the same time. Or go indie and hire a team who believes in her.
