Season 3 of That Grape Juice‘s live series The Splash welcomes Nathan Sykes!
The vocal nucleus of boyband The Wanted has since broken out solo and has been steadily building buzz with cuts such as ‘Kiss Me Quick’ and the Ariana Grande assisted ‘Over And Again.’
On his TGJ debut, the rising star delivers a soaring rendition of new single ‘Give It Up,’ the studio version of which features man of the moment G-Eazy.
Flavoursome and soul-filled, the song puts a modern spin on Blackstreet classic ‘Don’t Leave’ – which, when paired with Nathan’s powerful vocals – leaves a lasting impression.
So, what are you waiting for? Watch Sykes soar above! And let us know who you’d like to see on The Splash next!
There’s something missing, it’s like the lack of soul and convincing of his emotions along with the lyrics seemingly basic. ?
Ugly white dude I bet he smells like wet dog.
He not connecting with his tune!!! The studio version dont have those over drawn JOHN LEGEND extended notes with overly added Monica Vibrato lol.
He does have a voice on him for sure he just need to be bit more in the pocket and give a song like that a tiny bit less on technical and bring more swag like the essence of the track.
The comments are all on point, he’s clearly technically quite gifted but there wasn’t a great deal of genuine soul on display during this performance.., I was thinking about this earlier today, just because a singer can hit notes and riff and run doesn’t make them a great singer, just a technically efficient vocalist. I wish him well on his journey to that, for now though he’s serving plastic soul.
Something is missing
