Rita Ora is rebuilding.
The media maven has been a mainstay thanks to her activity in the realm of fashion, film, and TV.
And while her much talked about stint as host of ‘America’s Next Top Model’ draws nearer, the singer asserts that music is at the forefront of her focus.
As widely reported, the 25-year-old was locked in a legal wrangle with Roc Nation – a spar which stifled the release of her debut long-awaited new album.
With that drama behind her and the ink dry on her deal with Atlantic Records, Ora is opening up about what folk can expect from the LP.
Peep excerpts from her interview with the Evening Standard below…
Speaking on finally being able to proceed with her music career…
“I’m desperate to get my music out. I think I’m now at a point in my life where I have a new amazing label, we really have taken it to the next level. It’s very song-based. It’s very real — real instruments, believable lyrics. I’ve not only grown as an individual but as a woman. People are going to see that.”
On what to expect from the set…
“It’s just everything from my personal life to what I couldn’t do due to previous situations and now being free. I’ve never been freer than I am right now. “It’s about everything from being a refugee, from flying in from Kosovo and living in London, having this amazing city that’s crazy and full of lights — talking about real stuff.”
On when it’s coming…
“I’ve been in a whirlwind but I’ve honestly been living my dream. I was living in New York for three months filming America’s Next Top Model, now I’m in London for two months recording every day with my dream team. Then I fly to LA in October to finish the album.” [Source]
Word on the curb is that Rita has logged in time with the likes of Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, Charli XCX, Stargate, BloopPop, and Wynter/Diana Gordon.
Girl…..
Rita just stop the d-list shenanigans, stop releasing crap like Poison and give us some Urban Pop bops with good vocals. we know you can do it!
Do we?
She tried it with Chris Brown and….. well, you know the rest
Body on me was a good song , it flopped due to lack of promo not because she tried. She didn’t try she slayed with that one.
@trainwreck She was on shows preforming that song and she was on hot 97. She promoted that song its just that it didn’t do anything because no one was interested
that song was wack and had a wack feature. the singles from her first album were all better than that
This Rihanna understudy should stop trying it, no one cares about her music.
Nobody cared 4 years ago.
Can’t wait, I love you Rita
I fear if RCA doesn’t get their act together soon this is where Tinashe is herding, like Rita she is critically acclaimed, the fashion guys love her but the gp not soo much..
Player was a bop, video was fire but flopped , same with Body on me, til this day I don’t understand what happened there.
Being “critical acclaimed” is only good if the critics are also buying all of your music and hyping you, and the fashion guys if you’re a model
Gurl you can keep it cuz we won’t be checking. “The tales of the rihanna understudy”
“Becky’s side”..it’s a no.
LOL nobody checking for Rita Wh00re-a if it didn’t work before prolly won’t now
They are really trying to make her POP. Like I’ve never seen an artist with so many lives. Just disappear girl. Nobody wants her!!
Lol. Her Cassie and Ciara are like cats. They have too many lives. But I really feel she can still make it big.
Keep it
-^-v^v^—______Just flat lined
People seem to not like her at all oh well
