Nas‘ life story is heading to BET…by way of a series.
Full story below…
‘Street Dreams’ is the name of the hour-long drama series, penned by Jonathan Levine in honour of the rapper’s career and named after his song of the same name.
Fans of the ‘Halftime’ lyricist will be pleased to learn that he will stand as one of its executive-producers alongside his manager Anthony Saleh, Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell.
A premiere date is yet to be set and is expected to arrive before the unveiling of Jean Claude LaMarre’s Fugees biopic, and as BET continues to ride on the ratings wave that was their New Edition miniseries.
Levine, who wrote the script and will direct the pilot, also grew up in New York, spending his formative years in the 1990s. New York at the time was the backdrop for his coming-of-age feature The Wackness, winner of the Audience Award at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
Hopefully its as good as the New Edition movie/miniseries
