R&B songstress Alicia Keys will perform the coveted theme for the upcoming James Bond movie. Check out the report via Billboard: Alicia Keys and the White Stripes’ Jack White will record the theme song to “Quantum of Solace,” the 22nd James Bond film, which hits U.S. theaters Nov. 7.
The song, “Another Way To Die,” will be the first duet in Bond soundtrack history. White wrote and produced the song, and also will play drums. The soundtrack to the movie will be released Oct. 28.
The score for the film will be composed by David Arnold.
“Quantum of Solace,” starring Daniel Craig, will be directed by Marc Forster from a screenplay by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and Paul Haggis.
Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis had previously been rumored as the vocalists for the latest Bond theme.
Reports were suggesting a certain ‘Crazy In Love’ singer was also in contention for the much sought-after spot. More power to Alicia, though; she joins the likes of Tina Turner, Shirley Bassey and Madonna as those who have sung the theme to the classic film franchise.

IM SO SO SO GLAD Bey didnt get to sing the theme song to Quantum Solace. I would have prefered Amy over any one……but Alicia will mos def do the job. I just really wish these stans will stop hanging from her “c***” hairs because its becoming really attractive. I dont think Beyonce thinks the world revolves around her……..I think the world of her stans revolve around her and her every move.

these people usually ask the singers to sing the song, beyonce is doing a lot anyway, so i doubt it hurted her in anyway. COngrats to Alicia, and congrats to beyonce on her success. People need to stop the compare game BS cuz it’s getting old. I think people just love gossiping about stupid things like “omg beyonce didn’t get it WTF” or “haha a REAL artist got it instead” they are both powerful and inspiring artists on different levels, and help show how diverse the black world can be.

Tired of the Bey vs AK talk! Enough already. Anyway I am glad AK got it she has been wanting to work with the white stripes and she can definitely do any style of music and freak it! Anybody heard the As I Am album the proof is in those 14 songs. That’s a big move for her and i hope the song makes the cut for grammy nods because i know its going to be not only a hit but a great song!
I like all the artist mentioned.. However, I think Amy Crackhouse would have been the best choice for this particular genre.. It seems Amy was the first choice… But we all know why she wasn’t chosen, smh. Amy’s sound/voice fits a JB theme soundtrack better, IMO. Based on previous bond ST’s. I am a HUGE JB fan..

Go Alicia….shut them down. I know BeYaki THOUGHT it was an automatic shoe-in for her like every other role she didn't earn based on her acting skills. And I don't care what the psycho stans say, BeYaki hasn't evolved. Alicia and Amy have a rock edge appeal, and if BeYaki tried to do it, it would be a force and overdone like everything else she does in the game. I always knew Alicia would be the one to keep the R&B game on lock and bring good music in the process of succeeding and not because she wants to brag around the world about what she accomplished. People know and see what a great artist she is and she doesn't have to be the best singer to bring positive forward energy to the game. CONGRATS ALICIA!!!
