Sister duo Chloe x Halle are flexing their creative muscles in ways is seeing them move beyond music.
The YouTube starters, who are signed to Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment, are now veering into television. Deadline reports the sisters will join the spinoff to the popular ABC comedy ‘Black-ish’ – titled ‘Grown-ish.’
Details below…
Produced by Kenya Barris, the show will be shot will a single camera and revolves around Yara Shahidi’s character Zoey. The popular and stylish daughter of Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross) will learn that things are not exactly what she expected as she experiences her life at college.
The ‘Drop’ singers will have reoccurring roles as twin sisters, Sky and Jazz, who are on the college’s track team.
‘Grown-ish’ will air on Freeform tv starting in 2018 with a 13-episode run.
While not the most well-known station, there’s a natural carry-over of interest from ‘Black-ish.’ Thus, this serves as a great step into gaining more exposure.
In today’s industry, acts are tasked with having many ventures on the go simultaneously and leveraging all towards the benefit of their profile. This is clearly a memo Chloe and Halle understand well.
