The song is lifted from the MC’s sophomore album ‘The Beautiful And The Damned’ – due later this year.
It marks the first major collaboration for Cardi following the gargantuan success of breakout smash ‘Bodak Yellow.’

I love Cardi!! I love all female rappers; that are hot and also the not so hot anymore. But female rap in general is starting to sound tired… Anything that charts high gets tired these days. I think we need a female rapper like Lauryn Hill, something with quality that raps about life. Rap that heals you, lights up your soul. Shiit even Eminem has some fire in his music. *sigh* I just think rap is not all about just boasting and being self indulged

Ok cardi b need to work on perfecting her craft. I don’t want her to think she can just get passes because she has 1 hot song out. Work in pronouncing her words clear, staying on topic with her rhymes and keep her flow together and not all over the place. This is why nicki is 1000x ahead of the pack.

I like Cardi but the one thing that turns me off about her is the fact that she slurs her words and it sounds like she has too much spit in her mouth. Beat is fire but her verse wasn’t memorable. I have yet to hear a female rapper since Nicki jump on a track with credible male rappers and outshine them.
Nicki only “outshines” mediocre, mumble rappers of TODAY. That’s her lane. Put ole girl on a joint with real lyricists like J Cole & Kendrick and you’ll see how lackluster she really is. Cardi isn’t doing it for me, but she has more substance than Nicki who gets by with rapping braggacio raps 24/7. Cardi actually has a story to tell so I’m not giving up on her just yet.
She went from stripper to rapper, idk but I don’t think there’s much story there. Yes I like her but u talk about braggadocios raps and Bodak Yellow is all about bragging . Nicki was in a track with Jay and Kanye and out shined them… How about we put cardi against them rappers u named and see if she shines.
Monster was YEARS AGO and just ONE TIME where she went head to head with lyricists ( not even in their prime). Lyrically the verse was trash, like all her verses which is why she relies on cadence and flow and tourettes headass voice changes to get buzz. Nicki hasn’t grown since. I’m not saying Cardi’s better than Nicki (at least right now) but she does have more substance because Cardi didn’t have Fendi and Weezy backing her like Nicki. Cardi didn’t have to wear leopard beehives or sell out to middle America to get the #3 song in America. Cardi didn’t swaggerjack Lil Kim either. So yes, there’s more of story to Cardi. She a real ass b**** who ain’t an industry puppet like your fave.
