Over the course of Janet Jackson‘s illustrious career, the Queen of Pop has been an ardent advocate for the LGBTQ community.
It’s fitting then that the ‘Feedback’ singer was honored with the #OUT100 Music Icon Award.
The elaborate ceremony, which was was put on by Out Magazine, took place at the Altman Building in New York last night.
Glowing in fierce fine form, the 51 year old posed it up on the arrivals carpet and gave an impassioned speech thanking the community for their fearlessness.

Me too. She was speaking out for Gays long before it became a popular thing and I love that she’s always used her voice to speak out against every form of bigotry and injustice. That’s why she is the queen.

Janet Damita is so beautiful, inside and out! She’s one of the few entertainers/celebs/public figures (that I can count on less than one hand) that I truly find motivational in every way, shape and form! I honestly can’t express the impact she’s had on my life and I don’t look up to many famous people! I love her gentle spirit, her humility, her compassion, her innovation/creativity, her bravery, her confidence (and not arrogance), her dedication, her love of God, her strength and even her stubbornness! Janet doesn’t waste time proving anything to folks, she just all about action! JJ is love! This woman is friggin’ everything!
