“I see good in everybody. I saw something good in Hitler. Hitler was a wonderful painter…”
Thanks to the quote above, lifted from her recent interview with ‘Vulture’ magazine, ‘Danger’ singer Erykah Badu saw her social media handles in just that. Lit all the way up as fans, detractors, and more looked to school the Grammy winner on her ‘insensitive’ comments, Badu even earned a slamming from the Anti-Defamation League recently for her ‘irresponsible’ statement.
Taking to Twitter to, the group’s CEO – Jonathan Greenblatt – sounded off:
“…I also like to think that there is good in all people, but Hitler is pure evil. I don’t care if he painted or was a vegetarian; Hitler is responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews & a war that claimed the lives of tens of millions. Shame on you for downplaying that.
You are a role model to many, and as such, you should immediately apologize for these irresponsible and misguided comments.” – Greenblatt
After the sentiments above were being echoed by many, the Queen of Neo-Soul took to her own Twitter handle to address the hoopla. Look inside to see what she said:
