The X Factor 2008: Judge’s Homes episode aired last night here in the UK. Check out my 2 Pence below:
{For those unfamiliar with the show; The X Factor is the UK’s version of American Idol – with a twist in that groups and over 25’s are eligible to enter. The show also birthed the career of a certain Leona Lewis}
Having adopted a, somewhat, pessimistic stance on the show after the travesty that was last year’s Post-Leona season, this year has redeemed my faith in the UK being able to churn out another international superstar. Particular standouts this year include Alexandra Burke, Rachel Hylton and Laura White. Peep their performances on yesterday’s ‘Final 24’ episode below:
Alexandra Burke – Listen
Laura White – Cry Me A River
Rachel Hylton – Beautiful
Three very talented ladies, indeed. I must say my money is Alexandra; she has been killing her performances week in and week out. Her rendition of ‘Listen’ was amazing.
UK’ers tune into the results show tonight on ITV1 at 6.10pm.
I am so glad Alexandra is through, she can sing. I don’t like Rachel, don’t like her voice didn’t want her or Laura ( Wannabe Amy Winhouse) to get throught but they did.
SAM WHY DON’T YOU POST THE REST OF THE CONTESTANTS INSTEAD OF UR FAVS, JLS ARE VERY GOOD, HOW COULD YOU FORGET THEM! YOU SHOULD AT LEAST PUT THEM ON UR SITE, COZ THERE WAY BETTER THEN RACHEL AND LAURA!!!
Sam has sense!!! There's not point posting any1 else because these 3 are gonna be Top 5 and i'm confident one of them will win…
Austin should do well too and JLS hopefully have the right material to sing on the shows cus Lou Walsh is not great with song choices so hopefully he's learned from his past..
I must say that girl Diana was great when performing in front of the judge Cheryl & Kimberly..
Overall this is potentially the best year for X-factor yet, because there is more than one or two outstanding singers.
Lets just see how they cope with the audience and stage presence as the public look at those factors as well…
Last year was underwhelming soo i'm really looking forward to it this time… Very much looking like a female winner is on the cards
As reported here, the multi-hyphenate diva played covergirl to the latest issue of ‘Interview’ magazine where she officially broke silence on her headline-grabbing divorce to Academy Award-winning actor Ben Affleck.
I agree, Alex’s performance of ‘Listen’ gave me goosebumps – brilliant.
why did u post all the women all the time.
Great Blog! You forgot to mention JLS…..they are pretty good too

Rachel is better than jls… she is so good.
Amy was gr8 but it was her first audition probs y everyone felt for her so much when she sang her heart out. Alex n laura are fully deservin too
Diana vickers was amazing at boot camp when she sang hallilujah
Austin, he’s hot and can sing.
Scot, girl band, the kid, and the rest aint that amazing compared to the ladies and austin….
The top three girls should have been Alexandra, Laura and Joelle.
I still can’t believe Joelle didn’t get through boot camp. She was amazing!
I don’t know why Diana got in, she comes across as fake. Hannah should have made it instead of her.
I’m sad Suzie (The girl from The 411) didn’t make it. She was a thousand times better than the middle aged man that got in.
I LOVE Alex voice. I hope she goes far in the competition.
hey .. is there a website where US fans can view the full episodes?
