Charges Dropped Against ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Husband In Butt Grabbing Case

Fans of the Bravo series ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’ have criticised the handling of the sexual assault case the show faced now that one of its husbands, Michael Darby, has learned that he won’t face criminal charges after he was accused of violently groping a cameraman.

Full story below…

Darby, who was also accused of trying to solicit sex with male strangers behind his wife’s back, found himself in hot water when a camera man stepped forward to reveal that the businessman grabbed his bottom without his permission.

Traumatised by the violation, Orville Palmer made a complaint to his supervisors who are said to have suspended Michael from the show as they investigated his horrific allegation. Alas, Orville has now learned that Darby will not face charges and will remain on the show…not because his claim was found to be an untrue…but because there were no witnesses.

Ramon Korionoff, a spokesman for the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office told the Washington Post…

The case was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. The complaining witness states there were no witnesses who actually saw the incident.did inform his supervisors immediately after. He provided several contact numbers for his supervisors, however no one ever called us back.

Troubling.

Reps for his supervisors at ‘Truly Original’ had this to say for themselves…

To clarify and correct Mr. Korionoff’s statement, two supervisors, after being subpoenaed, testified at the hearing relating to Mr. Palmer’s request for a peace order (the court ultimately denied Mr. Palmer’s request for a peace order). Subsequent to that, one of the supervisors was contacted by the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. Counsel responded to the State’s Attorney’s call on two separate occasions and the State’s Attorney failed to respond to those calls. The charges against Mr. Darby were then dropped.

Only 2% of sexual assault allegations are later found to be false and this fact hasn’t gone unnoticed by ‘RHOP’ fans who question the show’s decision to continue its working relationship with the alleged predator.

Orville is a very common Jamaican name. I suspect the victim may have been a black man which adds another layer to this. I won’t be watching RHOP anymore.
