Striking as ever, the star’s Micaiah Carter lensed shoot is paired with an equally engaging career retrospective – which arrives ahead of her long-awaited seventh studio album.
And though coy on the set, which she’s been working on daily for year, Missy did open up about the feeling she wants people to take away when listening to it.
The feature has been unveiled on the heels of an electrifying performance at the 2019 Essence Music Festival and her historic inauguration into the Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame.

Wasn’t there supposed to be an album with “WTF”? I rarely buy rap/hip-hop music, but I bought that song.
There was but the follow up single ‘I’m Better (ft Lamb)’ flopped and WTF was the not the hit she wanted peaking at #22

I think her album will do just as well as all the other greats that continue to put out music. They dont sell as much as they did 10+ years ago but they wills till provide quality music.
COME THRU MUTHA!! Missy has NEVER turned in a bad album ? – hence her reluctance to release when her singles don’t pop – who wouldn’t be insecure that the sonics of the album wouldn’t grab the GP’s attention?
Music just isn’t the same as the 90’s and 00’s though, the story telling, talent, innovation, epic video treatments and humour is missing – she may as well just go ahead and release the album because REAL fans of MUSIC and TALENT – will know what time it is. Chicken heads can stay quiet ??

My only wish for her next album is hearing Missy sound exactly like herself. I hope she is singing more like she did on her first 2 albums. I hope there is another collab w/ Lizzo and other artists, both new and veterans. And lastly, I want to see her promo executed right. Dont just perform at festivals Missy..go on a long overdue nationwide tour w/ a bomb opening act.. pre bundle for bigger first week sales like most of today’s chart toppers are doing now. Stomp on these wannabe so called ‘Queens’ of rap and remind them how you EARNED the title of MOST certified female rapper based on PURE album sales in U.S. history.
