If you thought the talents of Emmy-nominated TV star Tracee Ellis Ross were limited to acting, ‘Love Myself’ – the first single from her forthcoming film ‘The High Note’ – will make you think again.
It’s no surprise, we suppose, given her mother is the iconic diva Diana Ross, but ‘Love Myself’ shows Tracee Ellis stepping into her own musical spotlight – even if technically by proxy of her character (“Grace Davis”) in the motion picture.
One of many opportunities viewers will get to hear the 47-year-old flex her vocal chops on ‘High Note’s soon-to-be-delivered soundtrack, look inside for the Sarah Aarons and Greg Kurstin-penned tune – Tracee’s first recorded effort.
‘The High Note’ film (available through VOD platforms due to the ongoing stay-at-home orders across the country) and its companion soundtrack will arrive on May 29.
Plot:
“Set in the dazzling world of the L.A. music scene comes the story of Grace Davis (Ross), a superstar whose talent, and ego, have reached unbelievable heights. Maggie (Johnson) is Grace’s overworked personal assistant who’s stuck running errands but still aspires to her dream of becoming a music producer. Things come to a head when Grace’s long-time manager (Cube) presents the singer with a choice that could alter the course of her career, and Grace must choose between playing it safe or listening to her heart in a decision that could change her life forever.”

I actually enjoyed this. Although it’s for her new movie coming out. I was on her insta live when she premiered it last night She was getting a lot of positive feedback. And this isn’t meant for the charts before the crazies come with their negative energy
Has J.Lo been stealing her vocals too? 🤔💀
I think Tracee Ellis Ross is a great actress, especially when she does comedic acting. I think it be great to see her do a dramatic role, she seems quite capable. No comment on the singing though.
she sounds like heather headley -in my mind kinda that theater voice
Actually really good
Love it…..💜
