Moments ago, the RIAA and Nas’ label Columbia Records confirmed that that the omnipresent 2019 hit has been certified 14x Platinum. Representing equivalent sales of 14 million in the United States.
It means the track now holds the honor of being the most certified song of all time.
Reigning atop of the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-setting 19 weeks (as we reported here), the Billy Ray Cyrus-assisted song had tied John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ and Luis Fonsi’s ‘Despacito’ for most certified song of all time when at the 13x Platinum mark.
Suffice to say, that all changed today.
The latest win adds to a mountain of groundbreaking achievements by ‘Old Town Road’ – which include ‘best one-week streaming in history’ (143 million) and three highest one-week streams in history as the song achieved over 100 million streams a week at the height of its popularity.
