She may already boast multiple GRAMMYs, top 10 R&B chart hits, and even a Platinum EP to her credit, but that hasn’t stopped fan hunger for H.E.R.‘s official debut studio album (due later this year). Evidence of this has come via the critical and commercial response to the set’s single, ‘Damage.’
Released October 2020, the lauded song got the ultimate launchpad as its premiere was supported by a performance on ‘SNL’ the same week (click here to watch).
A slow, yet steady climber on the Hot 100 in the time since, this week saw ‘Damage’ distribute just that on the tally.
See what we mean inside:
As seen below, ‘Damage’ – one of many gems found aboard H.E.R.’s forthcoming debut studio album (courtesy of RCA Records) – hit #52 on the refreshed chart, marking the highest rung the diva has reached to date as a solo-billed act.
Overall, H.E.R.’s highest career credit comes as a feature on Jhené Aiko‘s ‘Chilombo‘ hit ‘B.S.,’ which peaked at #24 in 2020 (as we reported here). As a leader, however, her personal best remains the #43 peak of 2019 hit, ‘Slide’ (which featured rapper YG).
Look below to see who joins her on this week’s TGJ Chart Check: Hot 100.
OH OK… something about her is off. She’s everywhere but the numbers aren’t numbering. She has a bunch of Grammys and accolades too yet Summer Walker is outselling her???????? Make that make sense
She’s a snooze
You h*** love to call somebody a snooze because they dont sell s** and pop their p****. Girl kill yaself. She has multiple grammys and all this fame with NO album out. #StayMad💁🏾♂️
I like the song but the video was hardly worth watching. It looks like a funeral or wake scene. Sad.
