Taylor Swift is drawing a line in the sand when it comes to the possible GRAMMY and CMA Award nominations for the re-released version of her ‘Fearless’ album.
As widely reported, the Pop titan is re-recording and re-releasing much of her catalog after her masters were snapped up in a controversial sale.
In true Swift fashion, the roll-outs continue to be quite the events as evidenced by the April activation of ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ – the first LP to be released.
What many may not know is that by technically being “new” recordings, the projects are eligible for multiple awards – namely the GRAMMYS AND CMAs. This despite having originally been released years prior.
However, in a new statement, it’s been confirmed that Swift will not be exercising that submission option.
Details below…
A rep for the singer informed Billboard:
“After careful consideration, Taylor Swift will not be submitting Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in any category at this year’s upcoming Grammy and CMA Awards.
Fearless has already won four Grammys including album of the year, as well as the CMA Award for album of the year in 2009/2010 and remains the most awarded country album of all time.”
The statement went on to confirm that Swift’s most recent album of original material – surprise set ‘Evermore’ (which dropped in December 2020) – will be submitted for both awards.
It’s of note that, ‘Folklore,’ the first of her two surprise 2020 albums, won Album of the Year at the 2021 GRAMMYs.

Whether a fan or not, this re-affirms that Miss Swift stands tall as one of music’s savviest stars.
See, while she would have likely nabbed nominations (which would have been impressive in and of itself), it’s clear she’s not wanting to split votes between her old material and new.
She’s already established herself as the only act in history to win the Album of the Year GRAMMY three times. Could she snatch a fourth? Time will tell. But she’s positioning herself well. Very well.
In other Swift news, the recorded version of ‘Red’ arrives on November 19.
Glad she realizes she can’t win everything, miss mayo💅🏿
Why is this news? She doesn’t deserve any more awards for it because it’s basically the same album with just some new songs. Miss Mayo can’t win everything anyways.
I have to respect that. It’d be like winning a competition you didn’t enter this year, because you won the year before. It’d be narcissistic to submit it.
She knows what she’s doing, which is why she’s submitting Evermore. It has a higher chance of winning than the re-recorded version of Fearless. I don’t see her winning Album of the Year at the 2022 Grammys. She has some serious competition.
