News of the death of Frankie Lons sent shock waves through the industry Monday (July 19) after report surfaced she passed away of a drug overdose on her 61st birthday (July 18).
And while her fans swarmed social media with sympathy and condolences extended to her children, most waited for a response from Lons’ most famous child – the GRAMMY-nominated R&B diva Keyshia Cole.

Taking to Instagram, Cole posted:
“This is so hard man. Can’t really even find the words. SMH. I honestly don’t even know how to feel. You can never prepare for something like this… Ever!!! but you will be missed.” She added, “Naturally so funny, that’s what I loved about your personality…. we all did. I created this post to show my love and appreciation for your life and I would like to thank my fans + supporters, shooot your supporters and fans, for being here with us during these hard times, and the love that you all have for us.”

You did your job Keyshia. You helped your mom and family..the whole world saw that. You aren’t selfish or selfless so be proud of yourself. Live with yourself knowing you did the very best you could for all of them. Your mom had her demons but at the end of the day she really was a cool woman.
