Exactly a month after blazing the 2021 MTV VMA stage with the inaugural live performance of her debut solo single, ‘Have Mercy,’ singer-songwriter Chloe Bailey is giving her fans another fix via an equally sizzling showing on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Kimmel.’
Acting as the musical guest for the show’s Wednesday episode (October 12), Bailey took to the piano and called on a small orchestra to accompany her as she served up a white hot showing of vocals, sass, and other assets.

@Keith If listening parties and private sessions were conducted with industry executives, fans and radio personnel, she would’ve known this is (at best) an album track or better yet, a deluxe edition song. A “fun, frivolous song” is great, especially for a lead single, when it’s market friendly and can create commotion. There was more buzz around the snippet than the actual song. This is not her brand or style, it’s just not it. Maybe for Tinashe or someone who could better pull it off. There’s so much in Chloe, why should she settle for mediocre and trendy which her entire musical approach was built on being different and artistic?
Have Mercy was already gaining steam on TikTok so they capitalized off of that & made it a single. It’s funny how sooooo many people have different opinions on what Chloe should do, what she should sing, how she should look when those same people NEVER supported her from the start. Chloe and her sister have been releasing music and promoting CONSISTENTLY throughout 2020. Most of it fell upon deaf ears! I saw so many people say their music is boring or they suck! Chloe writes and produces her own music. She’s trying something different!!! She wanted to be fun and s*** like she is in her everyday life! Y’all have the most to say but support the LEAST!!!!

It was definitely a cute performance.. creative … but as generic as this will sound I would have loved to see some dancers and choreo again… keep this for them intimate crowds where u unprepared or can’t have a crew. Your second big televised performance , should’ve promoted the essence of the actual song / video version / dance break included .
