Just two months after fans of the ‘Power’-verse said goodbye to the inaugural season of ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan,’ the second spinoff of the franchise – ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ – revved its engines to ride back onto screens.
Hop inside to see the welcome the Michael Rainey Jr. and Mary J. Blige-led series received for the November 21 kickoff of its sophomore season.
Viewership: 518,000
While it did not command the viewership of its predecessor (which averaged 1-2 million viewers per episode during its last five seasons), the critically acclaimed ‘Power Book II’ still managed to reel in a respectable (and consistent) audience over its entry run as it captured at least half-a-million sets of eyes per episode.
The 518,000 who tuned in to the show Sunday (November 21) may have given the series its overall second-lowest viewership figure to date, but the number – still in line with the average viewership of season 1 – was enough to make it the day’s 5th most-watched scripted series.
Its network trumpeted the performance of the show’s season 2 arrival on other formats, however.
“The Season 1 finale of breakout new drama series BMF and the Season 2 premiere of Power Book II: Ghost on Sunday (November 21) combined to draw record viewership across Starz’s global platforms, including the cable network and the Starz App, the latter of which hit new single-day highs for the year in views and one of the best days overall in its history,”
‘Power Book II’ airs Sundays on STARZ.
