In breaking news, the sentences for the trio responsible for the February 2020 murder of Ahmaud Arbery have been handed down.
As reported, father and son duo Gregory and Travis McMichael as well as William “Roddie” Bryan were convicted of killing Arbery.
Now, a Georgia judge has formalized their fate – life in prison.

The shocking crime, which ignited the Black Lives Matter movement in the weeks that followed it, shocked the world at large.
The McMichaels chased and fatally shot the 25-year-old unarmed Black man as he jogged through a neighborhood in Glynn County. While Bryan – initially presenting as a Good Samaritan to authorities – assisted the duo and recorded the heinous act.
Moments ago, the group each member of the group was handed a life sentence. However, there are particular nuances to their respective predicaments – even though Georgia law mandates they all serve 30-year sentences.
- Travis McMichael, 34, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole due to being convicted of malice murder for pulling the trigger
- Father Gregory McMichael, 64, has also been sentenced to life with no parole; meaning there’s a strong possibility his remaining days will be behind bars.
- William “Roddie” Bryan, 52, received a sentence of life with the chance of parole. He was found guilty of felony murder, aggravated assault, and false imprisonment but was acquitted of the malice murder charge. Still, like the elder McMichael, Bryan’s age means he could spend the rest of his life incarcerated.
