It’s been nearly 25 years since Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston joined forces to deliver one of the most memorable moments in MTV VMAs history, but the 2022 GRAMMYs got a revamped version of the iconic interaction courtesy of two of today’s hottest divas: Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa.

While presenting the Best New Artist trophy to Olivia Rodrigo at Sunday night’s GRAMMYs (April 3), Lipa and Stallion – who have both won the award previously – paid tribute to the iconic Houston and Carey MTV moment with an ‘accidental matching outfit’ snafu of their own.
Decked in black and gold ensembles by Versace, the ‘Sweetest Pie’ co-stars – as seen in the clip above – bickered over who had the sweeter outfit before Donatella herself came to settle the score.
Some music lovers instantly recognized the reference as Twitter was set alight with side-by-side comparisons of the 1998 VMAs that showed Mariah and Whitney – both hot on the promo trail at the time for their ‘Prince of Egypt’ soundtrack hit ‘When You Believe.’

Uh, no….
Meh
I was underwhelmed. The girls could never give a moment like Mimi and Nippy. The acting was terrible and the audience had awkward silence lmfao.
🤣
