‘Sweetest Pie’ sisters Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion turned heads with a playful rift at Sunday night’s GRAMMYs (April 3) as they squabbled over a “mishap” of wearing the same “exclusive” Versace dress.
When the comical quarrel was settled by the outfits’ designer, Donatella Versace, longtime music fans were immediately reminded of a similar diva dispute between Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey that occurred nearly 25 years prior at the MTV VMAs.
As the comparison began to make its rounds on the net, the tribute garnered a surprising reaction from Carey herself. Look inside to see what she said.
The original skit, lifted from the 1998 MTV VMAs, was a play on rumors of Carey and Houston’s long-running rivalry. Revisit the amazing moment in time below.
