Amanda Seales Says She Stands By ‘The Real’ Critique After Being Scrubbed from Show’s Finale

‘The Real’ may have wrapped, but – in an odd turn of events – the departed daytime talker is nabbing more headlines in its absence than it did in the years leading up to its end.

And ironically, it’s due to the drama surrounding Amanda Seales – who only lasted for six months in her role of co-hosting the show in 2020.

As reported, the multihyphenate took umbrage with being left out of the show’s finale episode – which gave a nod to all the hosts that anchored the series over its eight-season run. She branded the move “rude” – while seemingly overlooking the serious allegations she’d leveled at ‘The Real’ since leaving.

During an appearance on The Breakfast Club today (June 8), Seales doubled down on her stance saying of her omission:

“In this particular instance, I’m going to stand on the fact that at the end of the day, if you’re going to do a retrospective of the show over the year its been on and the hosts that have been on it, it don’t matter what I say, I was a host on the show.”

The 40-year-old added:

“It wasn’t like ‘Oh we forgot her.’ Then people were like ‘Oh she was only there for five minutes.’ No, I was there for six months, three of those months was in the pandemic. I committed myself to this and I gave myself to that and I know that I contributed immensely to that space.”

“Me leaving The Real and me verbalizing the reasons why I left The Real which I verbalized as because one, it wasn’t feeding my soul because it was being misrepresenting. It was a white leadership that was outwardly presenting as a show of diverse voices but the leadership and the decision-making about what content was being produced etc. was not being done by people who were even involved in — it’s not to say that there aren’t, like, you know white people who aren’t involved in communities outside of whiteness — but these people weren’t.”

She went on to unpack how she had it ‘confirmed’ to her that the exclusion was intentional. Seales also alleges that hosts Adrienne Houghton and Jeannie Mai reached out to say that they didn’t agree with what happened to her.

The only reason why Amanda gets so much air time on the breakfast club is that Charlamagne is scared to be on her bad side because she and the black Twitter feminists could’ve ended him years ago.

    No one cares about Amanda.
