Per the Daily Mail, the legendary Pop ensemble is in deep discussions to topline the iconic Pyramid Stage at the festival’s 2023 edition.
A source close to developments is cited as saying:
“The negotiations are ongoing but they have reached a stage where things are really looking likely, with or without Victoria. The Spice Girls are not a band to typically perform at Glastonbury but they are legendary and it will be so much fun.”
Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C, and Geri Halliwell (Horner) reformed in 2019 for a mammoth stadium tour of the UK, which saw huge demand and sold out every date.
Victoria Beckham, who wished her bandmates well, opted to sit out the trek, preferring to focus on her growing career as a fashion designer.
However, sources now say a combination of factors – including the star nearing 50 and no longer caring about mass critique, as well as encouragement from husband David Beckham – may see Posh Spice back in the mix for Glasto.
A confidant is quoted as saying:
“To perform at Glastonbury would be such a cool thing to do – even Victoria will see that. David has a habit of talking Victoria into things, reminding her how she would feel if she declines these things.”
The last time all five original members of the Spice Girls performed together was at the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony.
