Led by Kingsley Ben-Air, the powerful biopic captures pertinent years in the life of the icon – who tragically died of cancer in 1981 aged just 36.
Savvily released on Valentine’s Day (February 14), the Reinaldo Marcus Green directed flick grossed a whopping $51 million Stateside over the six-day Valentine’s Day-Presidents Day frame.
Reportedly made on a budget of $70 million, the US gross adds to strong international performance for the film – which, as of writing, boasts a combined global gross of $80 million.
With the movie showing no signs of slowing, ‘One Love’ is shaping up to be a super successful venture.
