Taking to press, Billboard announced that the her ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ album had sold over 1.4 million copies on its first day of release. That number accounts for traditional album sales the outlet goes on to note.
As a result, the album now has the distinction for having the biggest opening day for any Swift album ever and the biggest opening for an album so far this year.
The album was originally released as a 17-song project before being expanded to 31 songs released as a digital download and a streaming album.

Metacritic scoring is based on overall music critics data, and it seems that it is a resounding EPIC FAILURE. Tortured Poets Department now sits at a very LOW 60% scoring coming from New York Times, Pitchfork, Slant, Paste, and a few other huge publications. The industry is starting to see that they made a HUGE mistake giving this trash artist a platform to sell mediocre music. Quality is easily not important to this girl and fans and critics alike are finally speaking out about it.
