‘Supacell’ Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix After HUGE Success

Published: Tuesday 13th Aug 2024 by Sam

Netflix has officially renewed its hit series ‘Supacell’ for season 2.

Full story below…

Helmed by Rapman, the superhero show shattered records upon its debut in June. A global phenomenon, it was the #1 most-watched show on Netflix and reigned in over 91 countries.

Powered by a Black-led cast, which includes Tosin Cole and Josh Tedeku, the series centers on a group of strangers who realize they are uniquely connected by sickle cell.

Speaking on the renewal, Rapman said:

“Supacell Season 1 is my Batman Begins. It’s a prequel of what they’ll be like. Season 2 is when you really see what they become. That future you saw at the end of the pilot in London, that exact future doesn’t exist anymore. They’ve changed everything. It’s going to be interesting when we get into the writers’ room.”

We’re all sorts of elated! Season 1 was everything, so we’re excited to see what sophomore run.
