Lil Nas X has officially been released from jail following his headline-making arrest in Los Angeles.

The ‘Montero’ hitmaker was taken into custody earlier this week after being found wandering the streets in nothing but his underwear. Later, he was nude, and this sparked widespread concern among fans and fueling rumours of a possible overdose.

Now, the rapper’s father has stepped forward to shut down the speculation. Speaking out, he firmly insisted that his son is not on drugs (replying “absolutely not,” when asked verbatim) urging the public to stop spreading unfounded assumptions. His father, Robert Stafford, spoke to TMZ regarding his son.

He said:

“He’s in good spirits… He’s very remorseful for what happened.”

The 26-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the four felony charges against him, and his bail is set at $75,000 . 

His attorney, Drew Findling, explained to TMZ that he wasn’t sure if the incident was related to any substance, emotion, or medical issue.

He explained:

“There’s no way for us to know right now. Just know that we’re going to do our very best to address those issues.”

As of now, neither Nas X nor his team have issued a direct statement, but his father’s comments suggest the rapper is focusing on recovery and privacy amid the chaos.
