Lifetime’s hit reality series ‘The Houstons: On Our Own’ has earned mixed reviews from viewers as it chronicles the lives of late pop icon Whitney Houston‘s family just months after her untimely passing.
Its star, Houston’s 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, is not only using the show as a peek into her private life, but also as a vehicle to jumpstart her long sought after music career.
Indeed, while Whitney’s pride-and-joy officially unveiled her desire to be like her multi-octave mom via a Youtube video (covering Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’) some time ago, now she’s taking on one of her mother’s most beloved hits.

Bobbi’s voice has a really nice tone to it, she has raw talent and I think with vocal lessons and quitting the smoking will do wonders for her talent.
The low raspy tone reminded me of Brandy when she performed her version of “I’m Your Baby Tonight”. Not saying she sounds like Brandy but the tone of her voice is in the same “deep,raspy” family as Brandy’s voice is.

I don’t know how many of you are singers, but Rickey Minor (Whitney’s musical partner for over 20 years) wasn’t wrong when he said she has a good tone and a raspy voice.
