The often buried history of Africans living in the United States continues to intrigue historians and laymen alike.
So, it should come as little surprise that the National Museum of African American and Culture has welcomed over 1 million visitors since its grand opening five months ago.
Full story below…
The museum was pleased to announce that it had welcomed its 1 millionth visitor last week after it was opened for the world to see it five months ago.
There’s more. For, it also discovered that is expected to see over 6 million people follow suit before 2017’s end.
Lonnie Bunch, the museum director’s shared:
The best part is that the museum has struck a chord because people really wanted to see this story, to understand this story, to see the collections. What long lines tell us is that the public cares about this in large and record numbers. … We will do everything we can to mitigate them.
