This week it was revealed that, after eight seasons on the air, ‘The Real’ has been canceled.

The confirmation of the Fox talk show’s end arrived on the heels of rampant speculation, which saw the news of its axing preempted to the point that some of the cast were forced to address the matter – seemingly before a firm decision had even been made.

With the fate of the series finalized, anchor Loni Love has opened up about the cancelation and shared insights into some of what was transpiring behind the scenes.

‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2‘ has raced into theaters worldwide and already has the box office competition in a tailspin.

Indeed, the film – which stars the likes of Jim Carrey, Idris Elba, Tika Sumpter, and Natasha Rothwell – has been earning praise aplenty and looks set to debut at #1 with seismic numbers.

This sequel to the 2020 first flick sees Sonic keen to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. However, he encounters quite the hurdle when Dr. Robotnik returns with his new sidekick Knuckles. Together, the freshly minted duo embark on the hunt for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations.

Sonic pairs up with his own sidekick, Tails, and they unite on a journey across the world to locate the emerald before it lands in the wrong hands.

In celebration of the movie’s release, That Grape Juice’s Lettija Lee sat down with both Tika Sumpter and Natasha Rothwell to discuss their unique role in the adventure.

In breaking news, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences has announced the sanctions it’s handed down to Will Smith in the wake of his behavior at the 94th Annual Oscars.

As widely reported, the Hollywood titan slapped Chris Rock live on the broadcast after the comedian made a jab at his wife Jada Pinkett Smith‘s bald ‘do (which was caused by health issue alopecia).

Now, in the wake of Will’s voluntary resignation from the Academy, the governing body has formalized the ramifications the Best Actor winner will be subject to.

After watching the first installment of ‘Fallen Angels Murder Club’ score killer reviews for Lifetime last Saturday (April 2), ‘Breathe Again’ beauty Toni Braxton is back to do it again with the flick’s follow-up, ‘Heroes & Felons.’

In the mysterious thriller, Braxton reprises her role as the felonious “Hollis” at the center of an investigation of a slew of murders who must figure out ‘who dun it’ before its too late.

Based on the ‘Hollis Morgan Mystery’ franchise by R. Franklin James, ‘Heroes’ is executive produced by Toni and directed by Rhonda Baraka (who also serves as the film adaptation’s writer).

The ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta returns on May 1 with its hotly anticipated 14th season.

Its premiere comes on the heels of an elongated spell off-screen as producers prepared a major overhaul of the cast – which this go-round includes the addition of Marlo Hampton, OG Sheree Whitfield, and Sanya Richards-Ross as full-time peach-holders.

That Grape Juice was on hand at the 2022 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards and caught up with Kandi Burruss – who is now the longest-running member of the current cast.
