40 years after making his movie debut, comedy legend Eddie Murphy is still finding news ways to keep audiences laughing.

His latest tread in that stead comes via his first holiday film, Prime Video’s ‘Candy Cane Lane,‘ in which he portrays a father who accepts a magical wish from an elf to help his family win the annual neighborhood decoration contest.  Unbeknownst to him, there are some unexpected consequences attached to the acceptance.

The 2022 Bonnie Garmus best-seller, ‘Lessons in Chemistry,’ gets a television adaptation courtesy of Apple TV+’s new limited series of the same name.

Starring Academy Award winner Brie Larson, the 1950s-set series – which also boasts Larson as an executive producer – tells the story of a female scientist whose dream of dominating her field is constantly challenged by the patriarchal society she lives in. To cunningly combat the opposition, she accepts a job as host of a TV cooking show and ultimately “slides the knife” in secretly.

Also starring Aja Naomi King, Kevin Sussman, Patrick Walker, Lewis Pullman, Stephanie Koenig, and Thomas Mann, ‘Lessons’ premieres October 13.

‘The Book of Clarence’ arrives on the big screen next January.

But before then, the hotly anticipated Jeymes Samuel production is making its premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival, with its gala world premiere taking place today (Wednesday 11th October).

‘The Color Purple’ is reborn on the big screen this December.

Based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, which itself was an adaptation of Alice Walker’s 1982 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the latest incarnation of the story is a musical movie led by Fantasia.

The multi-hyphenate talent is joined by a stellar cast that includes Danielle Brooks, Taraji P. Henson, H.E.R, Halle Bailey, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, Aunjanue Ellis, Jon Batiste, and Ciara.
