Having served up ‘Lemonade’ to quench the thirst of fans this Summer, Danity Kane are now looking to the track’s parent album.

The newly remoulded threesome, which now consists of Dawn, Shannon, and Aubrey (after Aundrea departed in May to start a family), remain hard at work on the as yet untitled set.

To boost buzz, the group have shared snippets of new material via Dawn’s Instagram.

Despite having over 20 years of hits to their name, millions of albums sold, and even recently wrapping up a successful leg of their comeback tour, TLC‘s recent public appearances have only seen them bombarded with questions about pop princess Rihanna.

After being slammed by the ‘Where Have You Been’ bleater on Twitter for an assumed diss, the singers – namely lead songstress T-Boz – have been fending off attack from Ri’s faithful #Navy.

No stranger to cyberbullying after Beyonce‘s #Beyhive and Nicki Minaj‘s #Barbz both lent the ‘Unpretty’ performer an abundance of not-so-well-wishes, T-Boz recently took to TheDailyHelpLine to weigh in on the topic of bullies and a host of other hot topics and current events.

Check in at the 1 minute mark to see her thoughts on Ri and that “incident”…

traci braxton - thatgrapejuice

We’ve loved Tamar Braxton’s ‘Love & War,’ partied with Trina Braxton, and, of course, celebrated decades of hits with eldest sister Toni Braxton.  Now, ‘Braxton Family Values’  fans will have to make room in their collections for the work of another from the Braxton clan – Traci.

Viewers of the show have long followed Traci’s story line of breaking from the shadows of stage fright and lack of confidence to stepping into the spotlight on her own.  As her new single (released today) evidences, those shadows exist no more.

‘Last Call’ beams as a bold slow jam that pleas with love to shape up or ship out.  Will listeners feel the same way about Tray’s foray into R&B?

Check out Chris Brown.

The ‘Loyal’ singer is wasting no time soaking up the spotlight since his release from prison last month. Indeed, as well as returning to the stage, the star has been active off it…namely on social media.

This morning saw the 25-year-old debut an interesting new look on Instagram; one which sees his hair sporting texturized waves.

His caption with the snap read:

“Taking it back to the 30s! Lol!”

After bidding farewell to ‘Interscope’ and heading over to ‘Def Jam’, it’s safe to say that Iggy Azalea‘s career has gone from strength to strength, now handled by a team who’ve succeeded in taking her from the bottom of the Pop pile to the height of the ‘Hot 100.’

Now, as they figure out a way to turn her ‘Fancy’ buzz into commendable sales, the label have placed her on ‘My Main’, the forthcoming single from Motown‘s Mila J.

justin-timberlake-2020-experience-sales

Justin Timberlake continues to prove himself quite the Pop force.

Sixteen months have passed since the singer made a triumphant return to the charts with comeback album ‘The 20/20 Experience’. Fast forward to today, the LP, its ‘Part 2’ extension, and combined set (aptly sub-titled ‘The Complete Experience’) have amassed total global sales of over 6 million units.

The incredible feat (which is rendered even more remarkable given the worldwide dip in music sales) saw Timberlake presented with a plaque backstage at his Hammerstein Ballroom show in New York last week. Peep the celebratory pic, which sees the star surrounded by his label and management, above. {Source}

Congrats are certainly in order for JT and his team. That said, we remain perplexed as to how he’s sold so many units and yet few outside his fanbase could name four songs on the album that weren’t singles.

After all, with fellow mega-sellers such as Adele and Beyonce, the musical and cultural impact of their dominance was incredibly hard to escape. Indeed, wasn’t the world chanting “surfboard” in unison? Didn’t everyone from Times Square to Antarctica know at least one song back to front on ’21’? And yet with JT  there was…‘Mirrors’…and even that was a generic box-ready radio number; one hardly equipped with the ability to sell this many albums.

Hey, who knows. Perhaps, we’re being unjustly harsh because, from our vantage point, the LP’s hype far outpaced its quality. Still, the uneven balance between the album’s success and cultural penetration does make us wonder…wonder…wonder.
