Streaming has become such an integral aspect of the music industry these days. Indeed, from deciding chart positions to more recently being awarded its own Gold and Platinum certifications, online play of music is redefining the market at a rapid rate.

Naturally, then, more and more corporations are eager to make their presence felt in the streaming arena. The latest? Google.

Like rival Madonna, Mariah Carey‘s ability to “comeback” is uncanny.

Indeed, despite a number of commercial missteps, the diva always manages to get back in the good graces of the masses; case, point, her new single ‘#Beautiful’.

Thanks largely to a coordinated Clear Channel radio deal (which saw the track played every-hour-on-the-hour on FIVE formats upon launch), the cut has not only rocketed into the Billboard charts, it has -in the process-become Carey’s biggest hit in four years.

The truth-baring cut, which sees the singer wax honest about an abusive relationship and her friendship with Beyonce, has trended three times on Twitter and ignited mass debate.

As has been swarming the net since earlier today, ‘Va Va Voom’ vixen Nicki Minaj is reportedly the next judge aboard ‘American Idol’s judging panel to bid the show adieu – following the lead of veteran judge Randy Jackson.

What started off as a testament to the diva’s growing star power quickly turned sour as she fended herself from blame by a number of the show’s devoted fans for its decline in viewership since news of her inclusion.

‘Boss’ beauty Syleena Johnson broke the news of a pending duet album with fellow Grammy-nominated singer Musiq Soulchild in January after our exclusive chat with her.

Fast forward 4 months later and the first fruit of that musical offering has found its away to the net.

The ‘net was set ablaze this week following news that Urban Pop group Danity Kane are reportedly reuniting.

Yet, while almost all of the ladies were present during the carefully calculated press shot, one member was notable in her absence – D.Woods.

Speculation has been rife as to why the singer was not snapped with her former band-mates – who reportedly have new management and are piecing together a tour and new material to support it. Yet, keen to set the record straight, Woods has released a statement declaring her status in the reunion many Making The Band fans have been waiting for.
