While Silk Sonic‘s latest single, ‘Skate,’ is already set to roll out of the top 40 after just 4 weeks on the Hot 100, the duo – comprised of GRAMMY winners Bruno Mars and Anderson. Paak – are still watching their joint debut single, ‘Leave the Door Open,’ refuse to leave the top 20.

Found at #15 on the refreshed Pop chart 25 weeks after its premiere (as we reported here), the song’s grip on the chart region – due to enduring digital sales and handsome streaming figures – is just what helped hoist it to multi-Platinum status as recently revealed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

It’s been nearly 5 years since Chrisette Michele endured a swift and seismic backlash for seemingly endorsing polarizing Donald Trump by singing at his presidential inauguration. Though she made clear her intention was to “be a bridge” between his supporters and detractors, the only bridge she traveled was that straight to “cancelledville.”

The subject of memes, fiery debates, ridicule, and more from fans and industry peers alike, the blowback also bled into her professional and personal life via the loss of her record deal, impacted touring ability, and failed marriage (as we reported here).

Just two months ago she took to the net to openly admit the performance was ‘the wrong thing to do,’ but the admission also came with the question of why her cancellation endures while other high profile figures who have openly endorsed Trump continue to thrive.

Is DaBaby on the road to redemption?

It may well be the case.

For, the rapper met with nine HIV-awareness groups to apologize for the insensitive remarks he made about those living with HIV at Rolling Loud Miami; the same event that also saw him utter homophobic comments.

The backlash was brisk and big, with the MC going on to be dropped from a plethora of festivals, axed from brand partnerships, and condemned by many of his contemporaries.

His problematic attempts at apologizing only served to exacerbate the matter.

Now, however, it looks like he’s attempting – in a more committed manner – to do the right thing.

Via a scintillating featured photo shoot helmed by famed photographer Eric Johnson, the singer-rapper struck a series of sizzling poses for the September issue of ‘Interview’ magazine.  Interviewed by Missy Elliott, Cat covered a number of hot topics including her eclectic style, diverse musical influences, balancing being a rapper and singer (like Elliott), and so much more.

And while Doja made clear she did not approve of the photos chosen for the mag’s final printed edition, her fans – affectionately called #Kittens – still lapped up another opportunity to see their fave in action.

It’s hard to look at trampolines the same after seeing Tinashe‘s slamming music video for ‘Bouncin,’ the latest official single from her fifth studio album ‘333’ (available now).

While it’s probably best we leave all of our trampoline activity to the professionals, Sweet T reminds us just how much of that she is with the behind the scenes look at the clip’s creation. Under the direction of Lloyd Pursall, the 28-year-old – alongside a troop of equally capable dancers –  turned a demure basketball court into a full-on dance floor.

Showing off choreography that would make even the most seasoned movers and shakers drop jaws, look inside to see the magic that went into the creation of ‘Bouncin.’
