Hitting the studio as Blake’s name continues to flow towards mainstream notoriety, the pair have joined forces to whip up new material for the ‘Journals’ writer, taking to Elijah‘s ‘Instagram’ to tease the R&B-tinged effort.

After yielding year-end tallies based on chart stats and critic picks, our friends over at Billboard have turned the polls over to fans in quest to find out who the people thought was the ‘album of the year’.

To the surprise of many, the appointed – pop superstar Lady Gaga – did not see her name on the music Bible’s chart or critics’ picks – yet she topped every major category of the reader’s poll.

As 2013 draws to close, the onslaught of year-in-review charts are making their way online.  For music fans everywhere, however, there is only one chart that truly matters – Billboard’s year end charts.

Indeed, with a year filled with the likes of top hits like ‘Royals’ by newcomer Lorde or unexpected runaway hits like Robin Thicke‘s ‘Blurred Lines’, fans and industry insiders alike wait with bated breath to learn of the year’s top performers.

Last week Eminem & Rihanna scared away the competition with their ‘Monster’ debut on Billboard Hot 100.

Alas, their roar – nor the ‘Roar’ of a certain Katy Perry – has managed to frighten the likes of Billboard champion Lorde as her breakaway hit ‘Royals’ claims the throne for its 8th week.

An upbeat Nicki Minaj showed up and shout at New York Fashion Week two nights ago, arriving at the Alexander Wang‘s showing’s after party to perform at the star studded event.

With Rihanna in the audience, the star rocked the stage with renditions of her more recognisable material and dance moves the designer himself seemed to take a liking to, as seen in one of the snaps below.

Marking one of her first US performances since the end of her sold out world tour, this set came as her well loved ‘Va Va Voom’ continues on its bid to become one of the Rapper’s greatest sleeper hits, with its global sales now swimming towards the 1.5 million unit milestone.
