Just as the 2023 Primetime EMMYs were delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes so were the Creative Arts EMMYs that annually precede them.
After much anticipation, however, the latter’s two-night ceremony commenced Saturday (January 6) and ended Sunday (January 7) to toast the artistic and technical achievements in TV’s animated, reality, variety, short-form, documentary series, and specials genres.
Ahead of the show’s 75th annual edition airing on FXX on January 13, the second night’s winners have been revealed.

In late October 2022, Bruno Mars made history when he became the first artist to be attached to six Diamond-certified songs from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). “Diamond” denotes sales equivalence of 10 million in the United States.
The RIAA only credited five of those songs to the ‘Grenade’ singer’s cumulative count, a historic feat that was matched in February when The Weeknd‘s ‘Earned It’ earned him the fifth Diamond plaque of his career.
As fans of music’s leading crooners waited with bated breath to see who would break the tie, popular rapper Post Malone surprised with an upset Thursday (April 20) when it was announced he is now the sole owner of the record-breaking title for most Diamond-certified singles.

As far as songwriters go, few can challenge the extensive, hit-filled resume of Diane Warren.
Having written songs for Cher, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Brandy, Monica, Aaliyah, Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, Aretha Franklin, and many other big names in music over her 40-year career, Warren is lauded by many as “the songwriter of songwriters.”
The crowning appears to be one the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the organization that awards OSCARs) agrees with as she has been nominated for Best Original Song more than any other solo female songwriter in history.
Yet, in a continuation of her shocking but historic losing streak, the 66-year-old has lost in another competitive category.
