Earlier this month, August Alsina saw his debut album, 2014’s ‘Testimony,’ become his first album to reach Platinum status in the United States – a triumph that came just months after the album’s tracks, ‘No Love’ and ‘I Luv This Sh*t,’ became his first two singles to reach double Platinum status.

Despite those wins, which have been coupled with calls for new music from his diehard fans, the 29-year-old has indicated he’s not inspired to press forward with his music career.

Barely a year after his ill-fated third studio album, ‘State of Emergency,’ slipped out of the Billboard 200 after a 3-week tenancy (as we reported here), Alsina’s announced he’s set to vacate the music scene all together.

The clash of the songwriter-producer titans continues!

As we reported here, ‘Cant Nobody Hold Me Down’ hitmaker Diddy made headlines when he suggested nobody but Dr. Dre was worthy of challenging him in a #VERZUZ battle.  Once Jermaine Dupri entered the chat to assert his worthiness as a competitor, he was shot down when the Bad Boy mogul said:

“You aiint got enough hits. I’ll smash you with just biggie n Mary . But I do have the upmost respect on you as a musical legend – Dre the only one can get in the ring with me…”

The statement set off a firestorm of chatter from social media commenters, many of whom cited Dupri’s lengthy list of hits with the likes of Mariah Carey, Usher, Monica, and more as reasons why he would likely win a showdown with Diddy.

Said sentiment was doubled down on recently when Jermaine took to a radio interview to run down some of his accolades.

After over 10 years of bops courtesy of 2 studio albums, multiple mixtapes, EPs, and critically acclaimed singles, Iggy Azalea bid her music career adieu with her third and final studio effort – the August 13-released ‘End of an Era.’

A 14-track affair supported by housed tunes ‘Sip It,’ ‘I Am the Strip Club,’ ‘Sex on the Beach,’ and ‘Brazil,’ the project may have sent her beloved fans (affectionately called #Azaleans) into a frenzy but – as we reported here – the set was ignored by music lovers at large.

Although it stands as her first LP to miss the Billboard 200 entirely, Azalea’s got her sights set on chart redemption via the ‘Era’ deluxe edition.  Beefed up with an additional three songs, the September 17-released repackage comes with the added benefit of extra promotion via an aggressive Stateside tour alongside fellow rapper Pitbull.

Will it be enough to crack the Billboard rankings and give Iggy a proper musical send off? Tell us after you stream it inside courtesy of Apple Music and Spotify.
