As we inch closer to the September 17 unveiling of Cynthia Erivo‘s debut album, ‘Ch. 1 vs 1,’ the GRAMMY, TONY, and EMMY-winning diva lifts the lid on more music set to be housed on the long-awaited LP.

Just a month after introducing fans to the effort’s first single, the critically acclaimed ‘The Good’ (click here to listen), Erivo has followed with the alt-R&B tinged tune, ‘Day Off.’

“Day Off” is about “what it would be like if I asked someone to stop working and to take a minute with me to do something—anything,” Cynthia says of the touching cut. “I know what that means. I know that feeling when you’re with someone, you’re both going and going, and then you just stop and take the whole day to spend together.”

Taylor Swift is drawing a line in the sand when it comes to the possible GRAMMY and CMA Award nominations for the re-released version of her ‘Fearless’ album.

As widely reported, the Pop titan is re-recording and re-releasing much of her catalog after her masters were snapped up in a controversial sale.

In true Swift fashion, the roll-outs continue to be quite the events as evidenced by the April activation of ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ – the first LP to be released.

What many may not know is that by technically being “new” recordings, the projects are eligible for multiple awards – namely the GRAMMYS AND CMAs. This despite having originally been released years prior.

However, in a new statement, it’s been confirmed that Swift will not be exercising that submission option.

Because Normani has long cited Aaliyah as an influence it came as no surprise her latest song and music video, ‘Wild Side,’ was chockfull of homages to the late R&B princess.

From choreography remiscent of that found aboard the latter’s ‘More Than a Woman’ visual to the instrumental structure of ‘Side’ itself bearing resemblance to the Aaliyah’s signature hit, ‘One In a Million,’ many fans of both singers were pleased with what they thought were tributes to the fallen diva.

But while the 25-year-old continues to collect critical acclaim for her Cardi B-assisted banger, there’s one critic who isn’t completely on the bandwagon:  Aaliyah’s uncle Barry Hankerson.
