As announced via her latest single, the Supah Mario-produced ‘The Biggest,’ the burgeoning Rap diva discussed the backlash and controversy surrounding her former moniker as it’s steeped in centuries of racial and cultural offensiveness.

To formally address the name change, Latto’s lifted a press conference-inspired music video in support of the tune.

Over his short but storied career, Lil Nas X has not been shy about his admiration of Rap Queen Nicki Minaj.

A proud and celebrated #Barb (the name of Minaj’s fan base), LNX has actively participated in forums and threads that support the femcee – and even dressed as the ‘Super Bass’ star for Halloween 2020.

As attention is drawn to the 22-year-old’s latest music video, ‘Sun Goes Down’ (click here to watch), some of his fellow #Barbz have begun accusing him of using Nicki’s name for clout – particularly a scene in the clip where he reflected on his time as his younger self being a Barb before launching his music career.

So many of the discouraging messages landed on his desk, he took to Twitter to announce he will no longer publicly support his fave.

For, the singer has just dropped the tracks ‘Blue Banisters,’ ‘Text Book,’ and ‘Wildflower Wildfire.’

According to a press release, the songs will be featured on her upcoming eighth studio album.

The project is set to be released on July 4 and is entitled ‘Blue Banisters’ (as we reported here).

The songs arrive a mere two months after the GRAMMY nominee released her ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ album.
