Today marks 15 years since the divas of Danity Kane unleashed their self-titled debut album.

And, here at That Grape Juice, we’re in a celebratory mood!

As such, the latest From The Vault is ‘Show Stopper.’

The ladies’ automobile anthem debut was produced by Jim Jonsin. Although not entirely representative of their Urban-Pop premiere LP, it did a great job introducing the masses to the new sophisticated identity of a collective that had been shaped in front of their eyes for over a year at that point on MTV‘s ‘Making The Band.’

The hard-hitter peaked at #8 in the US, while its parent album charted at #1.

Jesse Terrero directed the track’s video where Diddy’s angels could be seen “showstoppin’” through the streets of Los Angeles and performing in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard – which they aptly shut down.

Considering all the pointing, posing, and overall serving happening throughout the visual, it seems choreographer Laurieann Gibson did a solid service honing the five women. Even more awesome is how much they’ve grown since then.

“Why can’t we just get along?” Clearly, this is a thought that comes to mind every time we think about DK and the many missed opportunities they (and consequently their fans) have been subject to.

Not since Destiny’s Child has there been a girl group that housed that much all-around potential. From the girls’ respective talents, personalities as well as the creativity some members have been able to showcase out of the band, it seems the destinations were endless for the band… had their team realized it 15 years ago.

Though it sounds far-fetched and to some unnecessary, we’ve continued to hold out hope for yet another DK reunion, one that would finally right the wrongs of the past decade and a half and allow the ladies – all of them – to really work their magic on their own terms.

In the meantime, we’ll keep “showstoppin'” to their bops.

As the masses come to terms with the tragic killing of rapper Pop Smoke aged just 20, the star’s family have broken their silence in a moving statement.

The MC, real name Bashar Jackson, was gunned down at his Los Angeles residence in what authorities believe was a targeted hit. And, as at writing, the investigation into the callous crime hasn’t yielded an arrest.

Still his family, who are based in New York, aren’t letting that stop them from honoring his life and thanking fans for their support.
