Despite the chart misstep that was the Normani-assisted ‘Diamonds’ (click here to read more), Megan Thee Stallion‘s proving her shine on the Hot 100’s far from dimmed.
Case in point? The commercial response to her latest single, ‘B.I.T.C.H.’
Produced by Detroit hitmaker Helluva, the song – which conceptually and sonically interpolates elements from Tupac’s ‘Ratha Be Ya N*gga’ – serves as the lead single from the Houston hottie’s highly anticipated debut studio album, ‘Suga.’ Released January 24, ‘B.I.T.C.H.’ (thanks to a handsome mix of streaming and digital downloads) premiered in the top 40 of this week’s refreshed Hot 100.
In fact, the #31 opening comes as a career milestone for the 24-year-old as it’s her highest solo debut on the tally to date. As we extend our congratulations, look inside to see where she landed and who joined her on this week’s TGJ Chart Check:

Nicki Minaj made history last night (December 12) when she became the first female rapper (second woman of color after Janelle Monae) to be recognized twice over her career at Billboard’s annual Women in Music event.
On hand to receive the ‘Game Changer’ award for her contributions to music and becoming the woman with the most placements on the Billboard Hot 100 ever (as we reported here), Minaj took to Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium stage to receive the honor after a moving intro from rising Pop songstress Normani.
During her heartfelt acceptance speech, Nicki not only reflected on her journey to the top of the Rap game but also paid tribute to fallen friend, former tour mate Juice Wrld (who passed away this week due to a reported drug overdose as we reported here).

As of time reported, Megan Thee Stallion‘s riding high with not one, but TWO Hot 100 Top 40 hits courtesy of the Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign-assisted, ‘Hot Girl Summer’ (#21), and DaBaby-assisted hit, ‘Cash Sh*t’ (#36).
To give each cut a boost, the 24-year-old’s continuing her trot across the promo trail in their respective supports. Just two weeks after giving the former its television debut (click here to watch), Stallion – with help from Ty and DaBaby – gave fans another live taste of ‘Summer’ before the season comes to its official close. ‘Act Up’ is exactly what fans of Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have been doing since a leaked diss track featuring the City Girls “firing shots” at both rapstresses has emerged.
B fans – affectionately called #BardiGang – embraced the Rap twosome after their fave lent her fiery bars to the song ‘Twerk‘ (helping it become their first RIAA-certified hit). Elsewhere, Minaj fans – affectionately called #Barbz – have praised their fave for her approval of the ‘Girls and later joining Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Hot Girl Summer’ – a song that prominently features interpolations of the Atlantan duo’s biggest hit (to date).
Now, with the unearthed diss record coming to their attention, the fan bases – normally at each other’s throats – have banded together to slam the City Girls for the infraction. Details inside:
Not even 24 hours after setting the MTV VMA Pre-show stage alight with ‘Hot Girl Summer’s first televised performance (click here to watch), Megan Thee Stallion is trotting toward putting the finishing touches on its long-awaited music video.
The clip’s premiere was reportedly delayed due to having to change its filming location, but the shake-up certainly didn’t put a permanent stay on production. Taking to Twitter to reveal the visual is ‘coming soon,’ Meg gave fans – affectionately called #Hotties – their first glimpse of what she was cooking up with the video’s co-stars Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.

As we reported here, Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Hot Girl Summer’ – with its #11 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 – has already proven itself to be quite a firestarter on the charts.
Coming as the 24-year-old’s biggest hit on the tally to date, the Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign-assisted cut achieved the sensational premiere on the back of streaming and digital downloads alone – ahead of the release of its official music video. While fans wait with bated breath for the latter’s release, Stallion took to the MTV VMAs (by her lonesome) to not only render her inaugural performance on the platform but also the first televised showing of the cut.
