Alongside pouring out the latest in Pop culture, here at That Grape Juice we’ve long championed the unchampioned and celebrate the uncelebrated.

Hence, with this week bringing with it the 10th anniversary of Christina Aguilera‘s ‘Lotus’ album, we feel it pertinent to toast the criminally underrated project.

Released on November 13, 2012, the LP admittedly arrived sans a distinguished, overarching theme. A first (in a long while) for an Xtina LP at the time. It lacked the deeply personal skew of a ‘Stripped,’ the soulful nod to eras past that both ‘Back 2 Basics’ and ‘Burlesque’ brought us, and it largely did away with the experimental buoyance of ‘Bionic.’

Still, from our vantage point, it was a wholly enjoyable jukebox of jams, with its sole sins being questionable marketing and arriving in a climate that was dominated by other Pop divas.

Standalone, it houses some of Aguilera’s strongest tracks in years – a number of which would be well-placed in her ever-and-always setlist of essentials.

As reported here, Pop divas Taylor Swift and Rihanna are leading the latest iteration of the Billboard Hot 100 with their respective hits ‘Anti-Hero’ and ‘Lift Me Up.’

The latter, the lead single from the soundtrack of the highly anticipated film ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ (in theaters now), also serves as the first solo single Rih’s served up since the era that supported her last studio album – 2016’s ‘Anti.’

Met with thunderous fanfare, the Tems-penned tune’s top 10 debut on the Hot 100 brought it a number of history-making feats – primarily thanks to an unprecedented response at radio.

And while it was outpaced to the top spot by Swift’s ‘Anti-Hero,’ ‘Lift’ still managed to uniquely tie the Pop titan in another regard.

Seven months after “Prince of Country Music” Thomas Rhett saw his sixth studio album, ‘Where We Started,‘ take the Country chart crown, the GRAMMY-nominated singer brought its title track to this year’s CMAs alongside Pop diva Katy Perry.

‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ hitmaker Cher had time Sunday (November 6) to clap back at detractors weighing in on her relationship.

The 76-year-old Pop icon went public recently with her new 36-year-old boyfriend, Amber Rose‘s ex-beau/music executive Alexander “AE” Edwards, after the two were photographed holding hands in West Hollywood.

Since then comments have flooded the actress-singer’s social media timelines with commenters pointing out everything from the lovebirds’ 40-year age difference to her penchant of dating younger guys over the years.

Having had enough of the hoopla, Cher took to Twitter to offer her own comment in response to the naysayers.

Megan Thee Stallion turned up something serious for her hometown of Houston as a headliner for the Amazon Music Live concert that followed the Texans vs. Eagles NFL matchup Thursday night (November 3).

Broadcast on Prime Video, the GRAMMY winner’s set was primarily comprised of numbers found aboard her latest Billboard 200 top 10 album, ‘Traumazine,’ and included rocking live renditions of the LP’s single, ‘Pressurelicious,’ as well as fan favorites ‘NDA,’ ‘Freak Nasty,’ and ‘Anxiety.’

And though the home team lost the football game, Stallion’s performance was an unquestionable touchdown.

On a global scale, the Walter Afanasieff-produced number stands as the second best-selling female song of all time with reported sales in excess of 18 million (bested only by Whitney Houston‘s ‘I Will Always Love You‘)

Stateside, ‘Heart’ recently saw its certification status pumped upward at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) alongside its parent album, ‘Let’s Talk About Love,’ and other popular Dion titles.

Rihanna made her grand return to the spotlight with ‘Lift Me Up.’

Serving as the nucleus single from the soundtrack for big screen blockbuster ‘Black Panther Wakanda Forever,’ the track is also Rih’s first offering as a lead act in six years.

As reported, the release has shattered records and made abundantly clear that there is a huge thirst for fresh material from the Bajan belle.
