Under the art direction of Erin Hover and the lens of famed photographer Micaiah Carter, GRAMMY-nominated songstress Kehlani took to the pages of ‘Bustle’ to strike a slew of sultry poses.

Rocking Bulgari, Chanel, Gucci, and other designer duds, the eye-catching threads only accented the equally attention-garnering quotes that line the photo shoot’s accompanying feature article.

Never one to bite her tongue on social issues, the 25-year-old – who recently made headlines for celebrating sex workers with her latest music video ‘Can I?’ (click here to watch) – went in on topics related to Black Lives Matter, the mistreatment of Black Queer and Transpeople, and so much more.

Despite years of backlash and disapproval from Nina Simone‘s family, celebrity admirers, and fans alike, 2016 saw Zoe Saldana don the role of the R&B icon/civil rights activist in the unauthorized biopic, ‘Nina.’

At the time of its release (as we reported here), the Afro-Latinx actress defended her decision to portray Simone:

“There’s no one way to be black,” Zoe said. “I’m black the way I know how to be. You have no idea who I am. I am black. I’m raising black men. Don’t you ever think you can look at me and address me with such disdain.”

Years later, the 42-year-old actress is singing a different tune.  Recently taking to Instagram Live, a tearful Saldana opened up to ‘Pose’ creator Steven Canals to express regret over accepting the controversial gig.

Though Miley Cyrus nabbed a top 5 debut with her last major label album, the 2017-released ‘Younger Now,’ the squeaky clean set entered the charts as her lowest premiere placement to date.  What’s worse, it didn’t exactly have the staying power of its major label predecessors.

Opting to return to more provocative material for its follow-up, the 2019 ‘She is Coming’ EP, Cyrus used the extended play as the “calm before the storm” (so to speak) before her new effort – the recently announced ‘She is Miley Cyrus.’

Almost a year after releasing what was believed to be its first single, ‘Slide Away,’ the GRAMMY nominee took to Twitter Thursday (August 6) to unveil news about the album’s new single:
