Days after trending on Twitter for making ill-received comments about Brandy (as we reported here), rapper Yung Miami of Hip Hop duo City Girls saw her name among the site’s most talked about for her inclusion on Chloe x Halle‘s September 4-unveiled star-studded remix to their hit, ‘Do It.’

Teaming with Mulatto and Doja Cat, the trio of rap acts gave the Scott Storch-produced bop a facelift – much to the delight of their respective fan bases.  That is, until listeners got a whiff of what Miami was serving.

Slammed for rapping ‘off-beat,’ the criticism was so staunch it landed on the desk of the 26-year-old (born Caresha Brownlee) who – in response – clapped back at detractors or ‘lying’ about her performance.

Timbaland and Swizz Beatz’ series – Verzuz, has breathed new life into the music industry amid the Covid-19 pandemic, which practically brought the global music industry to a halt.

After his own stint on the now popular platform, dancehall legend Beenie Man has been busy at work, finishing off what will be his first album since the Virgin Records released, ‘Undisputed’ in 2006.

Video footage has surfaced of dancehall legend working on a song with rising stars Alex Parvenu and his crew Yard Ruckus – the demo of the song has already proven to be very popular on Irie FM – Jamaica’s biggest radio station.

Despite being plagued with mishaps, the widely viewed “#VERZUZ group battle” featuring R&B veterans Jagged Edge served as a reminder of just how impactful the quartet has been in the genre for over 20 years.

Still managing to amplify fan excitement for new music to come, the group – ahead of preparing the main course courtesy of their long-awaited new album ‘A Jagged Love Story’ – is finally serving a musical appetizer in the form of new song, ‘Decided.’

Their first body of work since 2017’s ‘Layover,‘ ‘Love Story’ has not seen its official release date disclosed as of time reported.  However, it is expected to contain the previously released singles ‘Genie’ and ‘Closest Thing to Perfect.’

Nearly three months after Alicia Keys‘ long-awaited self-titled studio album was originally scheduled to drop, the R&B diva is still teasing tunes that will reportedly line its official tracklist.

After watching her last two singles – ‘Good Job’ and ‘Underdog’ – become unofficial anthems for healthcare and frontline workers amid the coronavirus pandemic, her new song, ‘Perfect Way To Die,’ aims to tackle another issue plaguing America:  racism.

As we reported here, Keys took to ‘The Daily Show’ earlier this week to announce the new song’s June 19 arrival and dish on how the deaths of Mike Brown (2014) and Sandra Bland (2015) inspired its creation years ago.

With its message still just as poignant given the ongoing struggle for racial equality, listen inside to ‘Perfect’:

‘Burn’ singer Usher isn’t the only one feeling the heat from Nicki Minaj fans (affectionately called #Barbz) after weighing in on the prospect of a #VERZUZ battle between the ‘Anaconda’ hitmaker and Rap Queen Lil Kim.

As we reported here, the 8X GRAMMY winner felt the fury of the fan group after he asserted Nicki was a “product of Kim” – an assertion that was rewarded by a social media dragging.

Later discussing the fiery response to his comments on her FOX SOUL talk show ‘Out Loud,’ TV personality Claudia Jordan consulted guest co-stars Syleena Johnson, LisaRaye McCoy, and Vivica A. Fox to weigh in on the enduring attack from Minaj’s fan base.

The result?  The fan group redirected their wrath to Jordan and co. – even promising to attack her 69-year-old mother to avenge their fave.

The longstanding beef between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj was reheated last night, but not by way of the ladies themselves.

During an Instagram Live with Swizz Beatz, R&B icon Usher weighed-in on who should be next to battle on #VERZUZ – following the latest spar between Nelly and Ludacris.

When the notion of Kim vs Nicki was touted, the ‘Confessions’ singer didn’t seem too enthused.

Tank has been a fixture in front of and behind the R&B scenes for over 20 years.

When not flexing his penmanship for some of the genre’s most prized acts including Kelly Rowland, Fantasia, Chris Brown, Keith Sweat, Tyrese, Jennifer Hudson, Keyshia Cole, and many more, he’s penned and performed his own treasure chest of Platinum and Gold-certified gems including ‘When We,’ ‘Please Don’t Go,’ and more across 9 studio albums and other musical projects.

That Grape Juice recently sat down with the GRAMMY nominee to discuss his storied career, latest effort (the ‘While You Wait’ EP), venturing into stand-up comedy, the possibility of reuniting with R&B super group TGT (alongside Tyrese and Ginuwine), and so much more.

Trina made headlines the world over this week when Khia re-heated their beef with a hate-filled rant that went viral.

Over the years, there’s been no love lost between the femcees. But it appears the ‘My Neck, My Back’ rapper is keener than keep to keep the flames burning.

Trina, conversely, seems to have delivered a “case closed” on the matter.

For, during an Instagram Live with 99 Jamz tonight, the Queen of Miami shared receipt after receipt (after receipt) when unpacking why detractors such as Khia have no say over her name, legacy, or pedigree.
