Artists of every genre are gifting their fans live virtual concerts in the wake of imposed social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.  The R&B realm has been particularly treated as some of its most respected vocalists of the day (Erykah Badu, John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, H.E.R., and more) have taken to their respective social media platforms to crank out hits and even take requests.

And while those sounds have been a source of comfort for homebound music enthusiasts, so has comedy.  Recently, a Facebook user earned laughs when she took to the outlet to say:

Apparently, someone took the notion to heart.  See what we mean inside:

March 21 marked the 23rd anniversary of the release of ‘Selena’ – the Jennifer Lopez-led biographical motion picture of late music star Selena Quintanilla.

Released in 1997, almost exactly two years after the 23-year-old singer was slain by her own fan, Yolanda Saldívar, the critically acclaimed film not only raked in $60 million at the box office but is also credited as Lopez’s breakthrough and signature role.

To commemorate the profound impact the Gregory Nava-directed movie had on her life and career, the ‘I’m Real’ singer took to social media to offer a heartfelt salute to Quintanilla.

It’s been over a decade since that incident rocked the 2009 MTV VMAs, but bad blood between Kanye West and Taylor Swift rages on.

Once reconciled, the wound was reopened in 2016 when West released the song, ‘Famous,’ from his chart-topping album, ‘The Life of Pablo.’  The hit houses a line that refers to Swift as ‘a b*tch’ – a sentiment she not only resented but was adamant she was unaware of despite Kim Kardashian, West’s wife, furnishing footage at the time “proving” the Grammy-winning songstress pre-approved the lyric’s inclusion in the tune.

Over the weekend (as we reported here), a mysterious source leaked footage that suggests otherwise and proves Swift was right all along.  As her fans, affectionately called #Swifties, celebrated the victory by igniting the hashtags #KanyeWestisOverParty and #TaylorToldtheTruth on Twitter, the ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ diva didn’t make a statement about the hoop-la until Monday (March 23).

‘Say a Little Prayer’ singer Dionne Warwick had a little more to say about the Pat Houston-launched hologram tour of the music legend’s late, iconic cousin Whitney Houston.

First making headlines for referring to the other-worldly concert experience as ‘stupid’ (click here to read), she’s now taken to ‘The Guardian’ to call the event a ‘waste of time.’

That’s not all she said.

Fresh from her elimination from the wildly popular ‘Masked Singer’ reality talent competition series, look inside to see Warwick’s tongue-wagging quotes about President Donald Trump, her denunciated 1980’s run with the ‘Psychic Friends Network,’ and so much more.

While the music world is reeling from album release and concert festival cancellations left and right due to coronavirus, Tekashi 6ix9ine is hoping the pandemic is just what he’ll need to get a cancellation of his own:  his prison sentence.

Claiming he is at high risk of dying from COVID-19 as he’s already suffering from “shortness of breath” due to his history of battling bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma, and other respiratory conditions, the ‘Dummy’ rapper (born Daniel Hernandez) issued a statement via his attorney, Lance Lazzaro, to plead with a judge for an early release.

Alicia Keys had quite the hefty promo schedule lined up before the coronavirus pandemic forced her to reschedule the release of her new album, ‘A.L.I.C.I.A.,’ originally due on shelves March 20 (as we reported here).

Yet, while she pressed pause on some of those ventures, others – as evidenced by the most recent ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ episode – pressed forward.

Taking to the outlet, the 39-year-old reminisced on her Hell’s Kitchen upbringing, the beginning of her career (namely the creation of her first chart-topper, ‘Fallin’), new book, and new music.  An engaging sit down resident correspondent Tracy Smith, Keys also dished on the price of fame and how becoming a mother helped her get to know herself better.  The latter concept served as a centerpiece for her recently released book, ‘More Myself’ (click here to learn more).
