Eddie Murphy made a triumphant return to ‘Saturday Night Live’ yesterday.

The funnyman, who is tipped for award glory with comeback flick ‘Dolemite Is My Name,’ hosted the NBC hit for the first time in 35 years. And oh did he make it count.

Because, while embracing the new with spoofs of shows such as ‘The Masked Singer,’ Murphy revived classic characters such as Buckwheat, Velvet Jones, Gumby and Mr. Robinson.
