Emeli Sande takes vocal flight on new single ‘You Are Not Alone.’

The soaring song is the latest to be lifted from the singer’s third studio album ‘Real Life,’ which arrives on September 13th.

Piano led and lyrically uplifting, it may well be our fave track from the set yet.

As we reported here, Brandy was this year’s recipient for the prestigious President’s Award at the BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards, hosted in Atlanta.

Presented to an individual songwriter, composer, or producer who has made exemplary contributions to the art of music and songwriting and profoundly influenced the entertainment industry, last night (August 29) saw B-Rocka join a list of esteemed honorees that in the past has included the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Toni Braxton and and more.

Familiar names like the Grammy-nominated Gospel sensation Kierra Sheard, Jade Novah, and even the R&B veteran’s brother, Ray J, were on hand to tribute her.  See highlights from the showing and see her inspiring, tear-filled acceptance speech:

This week saw Rick Ross capture the sixth #1 album of his career when his latest effort, ‘Port of Miami 2,’ docked on the Billboard Rap charts.

Boasting a #2 debut on the Billboard 200, the set’s impressive chart performance can be attributed (in part) to the string of music videos delivered in its promotion ahead of its premiere – a delivery Ricky Rozay doesn’t seem to be slowing down on any time soon.

Having already teased a visual for the album’s cut, ‘Born to Kill,’ the Grammy-nominee’s preceding that release with the somber video for ‘Fascinated.’  An ode to members of his inner circle who he’s lost over the years (to death, a corrupt criminal justice system, and more), the Bawse’s video is flooded with flashbacks of his longtime manager, Black Bo, who passed away back in late 2017 and more.

Future continues to prove he’s a changed man.

At the top of the year – while hot on the promotion trail for his sixth chart-topping album, ‘The Wizrd’ – the 35-year-old hitmaker revealed that he not only stopped doing lean, but that he wanted to be a source of ’empowerment’ for the community (click here to read about that).

His latest bid to do just that has come in the form of a scholarship giveaway.  Details inside:

‘Act Up’ is exactly what fans of Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have been doing since a leaked diss track featuring the City Girls “firing shots” at both rapstresses has emerged.

B fans – affectionately called #BardiGang – embraced the Rap twosome after their fave lent her fiery bars to the song ‘Twerk‘ (helping it become their first RIAA-certified hit).  Elsewhere, Minaj fans – affectionately called #Barbz – have praised their fave for her approval of the ‘Girls and later joining Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Hot Girl Summer’ – a song that prominently features interpolations of the Atlantan duo’s biggest hit (to date).

Now, with the unearthed diss record coming to their attention, the fan bases – normally at each other’s throats – have banded together to slam the City Girls for the infraction.  Details inside:

Madonna‘s long been regarded as the most successful female recording artist in history thanks not only to her reported 300+ million in record sales, but also a nearly unrivaled 36-year run on the Billboard charts – namely the Hot 100.

Granted, her reigns atop the Billboard 200 with 9 of her 14 studio albums are nothing to shake a stick at (placing her second among women for most career chart-toppers as Barbra Streisand leads with 11), the Queen of Pop’s truest crowning glory has come with the strides she’s made on the singles chart.  With 38 top 10 hits (12 of them hitting #1), she – as of time reported – sits in history books for having the most placements on the chart’s topmost dectet.  Other notable accomplishments include first female artist in history to have 6 (or more) #1 singles, most consecutive top 5 singles of any artist, and she was once listed as the artist who took the shortest time to amass 20 top 10 singles (a feat later surpassed by Rihanna as we reported here).

At present, Madge stands to see another member of the new school – Taylor Swift – break another of her longstanding records:  most top 20 singles of all time (among females).  Details inside:

‘Cold War’ singer Janelle Monae was undoubtedly feeling the heat after she took to Twitter to suggest putting up voting booths at Popeyes Chicken locations across America to lure people into registering.

The comment was her reaction to the viral craze that’s swept social media in favor of the fast food chain’s recently unveiled chicken sandwich – a phenomenon that’s seen people storm their local franchise to sample the deep fried bird and record their reactions for Twitter, Facebook, and more.  Creating long lines, filmed fights, and more in its wake, the high demand – which reportedly saw Popeyes rake in a whopping $25M as a result of the increased publicity – led to a nationwide outage (causing outrage among fans of the sandwich).

Some of that outrage has been taken out on Monae after she was inspired by a North Carolinian teen who gained national attention for encouraging people to register to vote while they waited in the notoriously long lines for their tasty feasts.

“I decided to register people to vote after I saw there was a lack of young people politically involved. I believe that it is our duty to vote as American citizens and it would be wrong not to exercise our political voice,” he told the press.

However, after the Grammy-nominee echoed his sentiment her slamming was so intense she had to backtrack.  Taking to Twitter to apologize, look below if you missed any of the action:
