Beyonce has unleashed ‘The Lion King: The Gift.’

Timed to arrive in tandem with Disney‘s live-action remake of ‘The Lion King’ movie, the compilation set sees the superstar curate a “love letter to Africa” comprised of songs inspired by the flick (which she stars in as Nala).

Billed as “sonic cinema,” the LP’s sound is steeped in Affrobeats, R&B, and Pop.

To assist her vision, Queen Bey assembled a colossal list of collaborators from the Afro diaspora and beyond.

Indeed, featured are the likes of Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Shatta Wale, Tekno, and Yemi Alade.

Joining them are US titans such as Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, and Childish Gambino – who stars alongside Bey in the film as Simba. Rising stars Tierra Whack and Jessie Reyez also appear.

5 years have separated fans of Iggy Azalea from the rapper’s debut LP, ‘The New Classic.’

Originally scheduled for a 2016 launch, the Grammy nominee’s sophomore effort – then-christened ‘Digital Distortion’ – was serially delayed after public response to the title’s first couple of singles paled in comparison to those from its 2014 predecessor’s.  Once label drama entered into play, Azalea parted ways with Def Jam and offered fans 2018’s ‘Survive the Summer’ EP as a means to tide them over until her official sophomore album was done baking.

Enter 2019, the saucy Aussie hopped back on the scene with the ferocious bangers ‘Sally Walker,’ ‘Started,’ ‘I Just Wanna,’ and more fresh out the oven – all found on her newly christened second opus, ‘In My Defense.’  With critical acclaim aplenty surrounding all of the singles from the set today, will the album – now available in full – prove itself worth the wait?

It’s been nearly a week since Jermaine Dupri rocked headlines for his assertion that ‘female rappers are just rapping strippers’ commentary (click here to read more), yet the Rap mogul is still enduring backlash from the statement.

Once his “observation” landed on the desk of stripper-turned-Rap star Cardi B, the femcee clapped back by explaining that female rappers who do not load their lyrics with sexual references tend not to sell as well as those who do.  Her response only highlighted why Dupri’s statement was so problematic, a feat that’s led So So Def founder to explain how his words were taken out of context.

Taking to our friends at TMZ, JD was sure to remind viewers he is ‘not a sexist’ and that his statement was misrepresented as an opinion on all female Rap in general:
